Fictional Company's Website

Project Based Learning
Project Overview
While working at George Washington University, I assisted the Environmental + Energy Management
Institute to develop their online certificate in Greenhouse Gas Management. Most of the students earning the certificate are in the workforce already so we wanted to make the program and assessments as authentic as possible. We came up with a fictional company, Apec, whom the students work for to try and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
My Contributions
As the instructional designer for this project, I had the pleasure of working 1:1 with three faculty members leading courses in this program. My goal was to have this Apec storyline thread throughout each of the courses, so it was crucial to get everyone onboard. My work was then to develop the storyline for the company and ensure all the necessary data pieces were accessible through the company's website for students to discover.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
